Touching the hearts of many: CoverGirl has paid tribute to its youngest ever star Talia Joy Castellano, who died yesterday aged 13 following a six year battle with cancer

CoverGirl has paid tribute to its youngest ever star Talia Joy Castellano, who died yesterday aged 13 following a six year battle with cancer.
The beauty giant issued an official statement to its Twitter account reading: 'Talia Castellano was the meaning of a true COVERGIRL. Please join me in sending love and honoring her memory.'
It has also re-released an image of the teen's honorary CoverGirl poster, which was unveiled last September on the Ellen show. The photo has been updated with the caption 'In Loving Memory.'

Making her mark: A teary Talia was announced as an honorary CoverGirl on the Ellen show

It was Talia's popular YouTube make-up tutorials that saw her become a CoverGirl, following in the footsteps of stars including Drew Barrymore, Taylor Swift and Pink.
She received her professionally shot advert from Ellen DeGeneres - another representative of the cosmetics brand live on TV.

Surprise: Talia saw her CoverGirl poster on the Ellen show for the first time - during her TV appearance she moved viewers with her inspirational story

'I'm shaking I love you so much!' the 13-year-old exclaimed as she met with the chat show host, just a month after revealing that she was battling two cancers at the same time.
The news of Talia's death was announced via Facebook yesterday.

Inspirational eyes: Talia, who was first diagnosed with with stage four neuroblastoma cancer on Valentine's Day in 2007, said that make-up helped to boost her confidence

A message posted by her mother read: 'It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven.'
Since the announcement dozens of fans have taken to Twitter to offer their condolences including Ellen DeGeneres, Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber.

Talia was first diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma cancer, a tumor that develops from nerve tissue in infants and children, on Valentine's Day in 2007 when she was just seven years old.
Following chemotherapy, surgery and radiation she was cancer-free for one year but in September 2008 doctors found the disease had spread to a small lymph node near her heart.
For the next four years she received various treatments, but after periods of remission the cancer kept on returning to other parts of her body.

Celebrity following: Talia met Miley Cyrus at the iHeartRadio music festival last October

Last year, on one of her famous YouTube video, she revealed that she had neuroblastoma and leukemia at the same time.
Doctors suggested a bone marrow transplant as a possible remedy but Talia decided forgo another painful surgery and enjoy her remaining days.
Talk show star, Ellen DeGeneres, previously cited the youngster as an inspiration.

Always smiling: Talia told MailOnline that clothes also helped to lift her spirits and some of her favorite looks included 'preppy', 'rocker' and 'boho chic'

Rolling Stone refuse to apologize for glamorizing 'Boston Bomber' by giving him coveted cover while CVS and Walgreens pull magazine from 15,000 stores nationally

The music magazine has refused to apologize for its controversial cover featuring Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Mayor of Boston Thomas Menino called the cover a 'total disgrace'
CVS and Walgreens are boycotting the new issue
Magazine's social media sites inundated with angry comments from people who claim the cover 'glamorizes' suspect

By DAVID MCCORMACK and JAMES NYE

Rolling Stone magazine has failed to apologize over its latest cover which has been accused of glamorizing Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

Despite overwhelmingly negative reactions to the cover of its August 3 issue featuring Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the editors of Rolling Stone has refused to apologize for their controversial choice of image.
The iconic magazine has experienced a nationwide outcry over its choice of cover star with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino describing it as a 'total disgrace' and saying it should have put survivors or first responders on the cover.

Rolling Stone readers have complained on social media platforms about how the image of Tsarnaev is tasteless and makes him look like a rock star

MBTA Transit Officer Richard 'Dic' Donahue, who almost died when the Tsarnaev brothers allegedly shot him in a firefight days after the marathon attacks said, 'I cannot and do not condone the cover of the magazine.'
'Why are we glorifying a guy who created mayhem in the city of Boston?' Retorted Menino, before adding that he would be letting publisher Jann Wenner know exactly what he thinks of the decision by the respected monthly magazine.
'Why would we want to heroize this guy? He’s a terrorist. We don’t want him in our neighborhoods. We don’t want him on magazines. We don’t want him anywhere,' Menino said to WHDH.

Tsarnaev has already attracted a gaggle of female supporters organized as the 'Free Jahar' movement who have posted comments on social media sites expressing their love for him

The cover of August's edition is a self-taken portrait of Tsarnaev, 19, in which he looks more like a rock star than a terrorist. He is identified simply as ‘The Bomber’ and the article promises to explain ‘how a popular, promising student was failed by his family, fell into radical Islam, and became a monster.’
Rather than issue an apology, Rolling Stone editors tried to defend the cover by claiming it was in keeping with their long tradition of serious journalism.

The next big thing? Helen Flanagan puffs on a cigarette while wearing sheer negligee in her debut indie pop music video

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Career move? Helen Flanagan stars in a newly released music video, in which she sings along to a song by The Neo-Kalashnikovs, while wearing a sheer negligee

She's made her name as a soap actress, lads' mag model and reality star.
But it seems that Helen Flanagan now has higher aspirations, as she's just starred in her first ever music video.
The 22-year-old struts around a house in a sheer negligee top and black underwear as she puffs on a cigarette during her first foray into the world of music.

Indie pop: The soap star has turned her acting talents to the new video, in which she appears to be singing

The actress is filmed singing along to the soft, indie song, by New Zealand band The Neo-Kalashnikovs.
But staying true to form, the former Corrie actress parades around in barely-there outfits in her debut video, which has premiered on Vice's music channel Noisey, not quite able to move away from her trademark image.
If Helen wanted the focus to be on the music, then she was going the wrong way about it, singing to the camera while going braless in a see-through white camisole.

Trademark image: Helen seemed trying to draw as much attention to her body as she was to the music, parading around in barely-there outfits

With her blonde hair in her trademark top knot the star then wanders around a large house while clutching a wine glass.
In the next shot she's wearing another racy outfit, pairing a black and white T-shirt with just a pair of black knickers as she smokes a cigarette.

New direction? While Helen hasn't spoken out about her musical aspirations, she tweeted a link to her new video

Still singing along to the track, Helen spins around while clutching a bottle of spirits, clearly trying to add a little edge to her image as she attempts to break into the world of music
Later in the video, the recently single star can be seen running down a green hill before having an altercation with a tree, throwing handfuls of leaves at the camera.

Trading on her figure: The actress is still promoting her figure just as much as her acting talents

Helen has stayed tight lipped about the video, simply posting on it on Twitter, writing: 'Music video filmed on the 16th June x.'
The blonde-haired actress, who's currently filming Celebrity Spa, split from her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair earlier this month amid claims that he's be 'sexting' another woman.
But despite the fact that they have both moved out of the house that they lived in together, reports suggest that Helen is keen to give things another go.
She told The Sun at the weekend: 'I’ve always been deeply in love with Scott and the past few weeks have been heartbreaking. I want to work things through and get back together. I just want to be happy again.

British Open First Round: Johnson Leads, Heat Takes its Toll

Tiger Woods played a solid first round at Muirfield.

As the first round of the British Open wore on Thursday, and Muirfield’s already baked grass absorbed more heat, early clubhouse leader Zach Johnson was looking luckier and luckier to have played his round early.

His five-under 66 held up for the lead, one shot ahead of Mark O’Meara and Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain. The best round of the afternoon was turned in by none other than Tiger Woods, whose two-under 69 was accomplished on greens that started out fast and reached diabolical by the end of the day.

“It got quick,” Woods said. “It got really quick. It’s so fiery out there. It’s hard to fathom how far the ball is going downwind. We hit a couple 6-irons 285. With some of these pin locations, it was hard to get the ball close.”

Shiv Kapur was having no trouble at all with the conditions on the front nine, scorching it for six birdies to roar into the lead. But the back nine was a much tougher go, and a double bogey and a bogey dropped him back to three-under.

Phil Mickelson, trying to win his first British Open, played early and played well and was two under after his 69.

Clearly, the conditions were a far cry from the high winds and horizontal rain in 2002 that helped spoil Woods’s attempt to complete the Grand Slam that year. But whether it’s hot or raining, Muirfield is hardly a course ripe for scoring.

Throughout the tournament, keep tabs on who is making a run for the lead with our live leader board.

Selena will not be pleased! Bad boy Justin Bieber 'brings two girls back to his hotel after partying at an over 21 nightclub until early morning hours'

By JADE WATKINS

More antics: Justin Bieber reportedly took two girls back to his hotel after a night of partying in New York City on Tuesday night

He only just reconciled with his girlfriend Selena Gomez.
But it seems that Justin Bieber is about to be in the dog house again.
According to a new report, the pop star brought two girls back to his New York hotel on Tuesday night after partying at 1 Oak nightclub, reports the New York Post.

Several onlookers say that Justin was behaving ostentatiously at the venue, showing off in front of a group of friends.
Two women, who both work in the New York fashion scene, tweeted about how they saw Justin flashing his gold jewellery at other party goers in the club.
'Ending the night with @justinbieber shaking his gold chain over the peasants of 1oak #ifyouweremyboyfriend' Chanel fashion PR intern Mollye Rogel tweeted.
'Justin Bieber is shaking a diamond gold medallion in 1Oak, Probably the best thing I’ve ever seen,' British model Louise Dove also posted.

Bad boy Bieber: The singer also reportedly left a Philadelphia hotel angry after reserving 18 rooms and cancelling at the last minute

While a representative for the Darby, a restaurant Justin and his friends were dining at earlier, told the New York Post that the teen was 'not served alcohol, nor was anyone in his group drinking', it is unknown if that was the same case at 21-and-over venue 1 Oak.
Following his outing at the popular venue, Justin then apparently moved onto his hotel where he continued to party alongside two girls.
And his antics didn't stop there either.
According to Philadelphia Daily News, Justin had reserved 18 rooms at the Philadelphia Four Seasons for the following night on Wednesday, including the Presidential suite.
However, at the very last minute he cancelled them all, throwing a spanner in the works.

New ink: Justin's Tuesday night ended in a brand new eyeball tattoo

'All this occurring after the good folks at the Four Seasons bent over backward for Bieber, moving around reservations to accommodate the singer and his entourage and making sure he had everything he requested,' a reporter for the paper wrote.

During his big night out in NYC Justin also got a new tattoo, an inking of an eyeball.
The Never Say Never singer proudly showed off his latest inking on Instagram by posing for a picture with tattoo artist Bang Bang, who can be seen pointing at Justin's new body art in the snapshot.
The ultra-realistic eye design allegedly represents the watchful eye of Justin's mother, Pattie Mallette.
The new tattoo sits in the crook of his left arm, just above the word 'Believe', which the 19-year-old star got to commemorate the release of his third album.
This brings ink-mad Justin's tattoo tally up to 16, with some of his more original images including a portrait of Jesus, an owl, and girl closely resembling his ex-girlfriend Selena.
Hopefully, Bang Bang - whose clients include Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Rihanna - received a warmer welcome from Justin than his last tattoo artist.
The pop star was branded a 'spoiled brat' by Guy Sahar, who was called to the singer's hotel suite in London in March, only to allegedly be kept waiting for hours and then have his usual fee halved.
Guy said at the time: 'Initially I was told to go to Justin's hotel at 7pm by one of his minders but then I was called back and put on standby all night.
'I was finally summoned to the hotel at 6am. I was told money wasn't a problem so we didn't discuss prices.
'I spent four hours tattooing him and his DJ, and wasn't even offered a glass of water.'
Meanwhile, a man who has accused Justin of spitting in his face has filed a police report, according to TMZ.
The pop star allegedly confronted Addison Ulhaq inside an Ohio bar over the weekend because he thought he was taking pictures of the singer.

Reconciled: Justin and his on and off again girlfriend Selena Gomez recently reconciled

'He called my mom something, called my dad something, called me something...and spit in my face,' said the man - a DJ who performed at the Social Room on Park Street in Columbus on Saturday - in his report.
'Two of Bieber's bouncers approached me and said I was trying to take pictures of Bieber,' said the man, who called in to the Dave and Jimmy radio show on WNCI to explain what happened earlier in the week.
The man said he thought Justin was concerned because it was an over 21 nightclub.
Bieber's bouncers grabbed his phone and started scrolling through it looking for photographs, said the man, but they didn't find any.
And yet, the man claimed, the bouncers told Bieber he was trying to take the pictures.
That's when Bieber allegedly confronted the man and proceeded to spit in his face.

Growing pains: Justin's behaviour has changed significantly since the pair first began dating

In his police report, he describes how his eyes, nose and mouth was left covered in Justin's saliva and mucus.
According to TMZ, the man was tested for Hepatitis, but the tests came back negative.
At this time, the police report says that: 'The victim stated that he does not want anything done at this time and just wants to document the incident.'
Mailonline has contacted Justin's representatives who have declined to comment on the story.

Well she is Mrs Bloom! Miranda Kerr stuns in floral frock as she attends golf tournament in Japan

Fabulous in flowers: Miranda Kerr stunned at the Samantha Thavasa Ladies Tournament at Eagle Point Golf Club in Ami, Ibaraki, Japan on Friday

She tied the knot with Orlando Bloom in 2010, after dating since 2007.
And it seems Miranda Kerr has picked up a fair bit from her husband over the years, in particular the ability to bloom.
The 30-year-old looked picture perfect in a feminine and flirty floral dress as she attended the Samantha Thavasa Ladies Tournament at Eagle Point Golf Club in Ami, Ibaraki, Japan on Friday.

In the detail: Miranda teamed her dress with red studded heels and a pink leather bag

Turning plenty of heads Miranda looked positively glowing as she posed alongside other female guests.
The glistening V-neck dress - which was in pale green, blue and pink hues - fell to just above her knee showing off her slender legs.
She teamed the dress with a pair of red studded heels and a bright pink handbag, which matched the colour on her lips.

So sweet: Miranda couldn't stop grinning as she posed away for the cameras

Her dark blonde locks had been styled sleekly falling to one side of her shoulder, drawing attention to her slender neck.
Miranda has only been in Japan for a day but she already seems to making the most of her time and excitedly tweeted a picture of a very intricate manicure, which she captioned: ‘Loving my Japanese nail art! Kawaii.’
On Thursday Miranda made sure she turned heads as she arrived at Narita International Airport in wearing an Oriental inspired dress.
Looking her usual glamorous self, despite her long flight, the model slipped into the elegant low-cut orange printed dress.

New pals: Miranda posed up with some women who were ready to play golf

Featuring a corseted section around the waist, the print dress showed off her famous figure perfectly.
The fashion fan's dress featured long sections around the hem, but it was the plunging neckline which stole the show.
Creating a cool clash she wore the bright dress with a pair of black and white Dalmatian print heels from Bionda Castana and bright red lipstick.

Delighted: The star was really pleased about the reception she has received from her Japanese fans

Her long locks looked immaculate, falling in a sexy side sweep, so she looked picture perfect when she met her waiting fans at the airport.
Clearly delighted with the reception she received she took to Twitter to thank the hordes of people waiting to meet her.
She wrote: ‘Thank you for my warm welcome at the airport in Japan ❤’

Making the most: Miranda wasted no time in getting her nails done while in Japan

It is unclear whether Miranda is in Japan for a photoshoot or to promote her Kora Organics skin care range, which is available to buy in the country.
Her visit comes just as it was confirmed she would be the face of fashion brand Mango for a second season.
Speaking about her recent shoot for the brand, she said: 'I had a great time shooting the Fall/Winter campaign.'

Daddy duties: Orlando was meanwhile seen walking topless in New York with their son Flynn and his nanny

'The clothing is especially fun this season with a punk-inspired edge. I loved that Inez and Vinoodh kept the look of the campaign very raw and natural and I think it compliments the collection well.'
While the leggy star has been busy work, her husband Orlando has taken on full parental responsibilities of their son Flynn.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star was spotted taking a stroll with the two-year-old and his nanny in New York on Tuesday, after the first image of his Broadway debut as Romeo was released.
And showing his wife isn’t the only one with sexy appeal he went topless, giving passer-by a glimpse of his muscular figure.

What happened to Harry Potter? Daniel Radcliffe looked worlds away from his alter-ego as he left London's Noel Coward Theatre after his performance in The Cripple of Inishmaan on Thursday night

He shot to fame at the tender age of 10 as the fresh-faced boy wizard in the Harry Potter franchise.
But Daniel Radcliffe looked worlds away from his alter-ego as he left London's Noel Coward Theatre after his performance in The Cripple of Inishmaan on Thursday night.
Looking decidedly on edge as he emerged from the stage door, the 23-year-old actor's pale and gaunt appearance will have no doubt sparked concern among his legion of devoted fans.
Wearing a slim-fitting sky blue polo shirt, the former child star appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight, with his arms looking skinnier than ever as he headed to his waiting car.

Gaunt: The 23-year-old actor's appearance seemed to have deteriorated significantly from February, when he looked healthy and happy while attending the 2013 Oscars at the Hollywood & Highland Centre

Despite attempting to cover his face with a baseball cap, Daniel's pale and gaunt appearance was clear to see, while the young actor also had large bags under his eyes.
Not only was his drawn look a far cry from his days as Harry Potter - the movies which propelled him and fellow child stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson to worldwide super-stardom - but Daniel's appearance seemed to have deteriorated significantly even from February.

Worrying: Despite attempting to cover his face with a baseball cap, Daniel's pale and gaunt face was clear to see, while the young actor had unusual red blotches on his cheeks and large bags under his eyes

Posing on the red carpet at the Hollywood & Highland Centre, he looked the epitome of healthy and happy as he joined the great and good of the acting world for the 2013 Oscars.
The British actor has had a chequered history with drinking, previously revealing how he had to give up alcohol after becoming too reliant on booze and evening 'blacking out' on a number of occasions.
He told ShortList magazine last year: 'Seriously, in the last three years of drinking I blacked out nearly every time. Blacking out was my thing.

Worlds away from Harry Potter: Looking decidedly on edge as he emerged from the stage door, the 23-year-old actor's pale and gaunt appearance will have no doubt sparked concern among his legion of devoted fans

Cute as a button! Daniel shot to fame at the tender age of 10 as the fresh-faced boy wizard in the Harry Potter franchise

'The drinking was unhealthy and damaging to my body and my social life. That’s beyond question. I was living in constant fear of who I’d meet, what I might have said to them, what I might have done with them, so I’d stay in my apartment for days and drink alone.
'I was a recluse at 20. It was pathetic – it wasn’t me. I’m a fun, polite person and it turned me into a rude bore. For a long time people were saying to me, “We think you have a problem,” but in the end I had to come to the realisation myself.'
A representative for Daniel Radcliffe has been contacted for comment by MailOnline.

Too much, too young? Daniel, pictured with fellow child stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, as well as Harry Potter writer JK Rowling, was propelled to almost overnight super-stardom

Hazardous Harry! Zayn Malik saves his bandmate from walking into a flaming pyrotechnic during live show

Hot In Herre: Harry Styles nearly gets set on fire but Zayn Malik runs in to the rescue onstage in Chicago

It seems Harry Styles can't go for long without having an onstage incident.
After having his trousers pulled down and throwing up on stage in recent months, the One Direction star's latest incident saw him nearly set himself on fire during the band's second Chicago show.
The near-miss occurred when Harry walked into a flaming pyrotechnic on the stage.
But luckily for Harry, his bandmate Zayn Malik was there to warn and stop the 19-year old from singeing off his famous floppy hair.

Blinded: Putting a towel over his head, Harry can't see the flames in front of him

The would-be accident occurred during the group's performance of Teenage Dirtbag - the same song that saw Harry running off stage to be sick a week earlier in Detroit.
The song went off with out a hitch, with a much more energetic Styles running around the stage and waving at fans.
But as the pop song came to a close, the teenager picked up a white towel and wrapped it round his head as he made his way towards the side of the stage, and the impressive flame.

Spotted: Zayn sees Harry walking towards the pyrotechnic with a towel blocking his vision

And conscious of the danger that lay in Harry's, Zayn, 20, attempted to make his friend aware of the fact he was heading towards a fiery ending.
Calling out and pointing didn't work thanks to the raucous cheers of the thousands of fans watching the show, so Bradford boy Zayn ran towards Harry and pulled him back just seconds before he set himself alight.
Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne watched as their brave bandmate saved Styles from a life-threatening injury, and seemed to chuckle at their mate's clumsy behaviour.

Can't hear: With the crowds cheers covering his voice Malick runs to his bandmate to stop him going head first into a flame

Whispering a few words in Harry's ear, one can only guess as to what Zayn was saying, but a smirk on the nearly scorched singer's face showed his relief at avoiding an accident.
Pulling his fingers through his hair, no doubt Harry felt double relief that his mop hadn't melted.
One Direction have 15 more U.S. dates on their Take Me Home world tour before flying to Australia, so hopefully Styles will survive before they head Down Under.

Double check: Styles must have been relieved his famous mop wasn't burnt to the wick

Box Office Report: 'The Conjuring' Scares Up $3.3 Million Thursday Night

$

By Pamela McClintock

New Line Cinema
A scene from "The Conjuring"

UPDATED: The low-budget horror pic has a shot at beating "R.I.P.D." and "Red 2" for the weekend; elsewhere on Thursday, "Despicable Me 2" crosses the $500 million mark worldwide and beats "Turbo" for the day.

The Conjuring, from horror maestro James Wan, scared up a stellar $3.3 million as it rolled out in theaters Thursday night.

The New Line and Warner Bros. film only cost $20 million to produce, and stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators who help a family terrorized by a dark force. Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor also star.
The Conjuring has a good shot at grossing north of $20 million for the weekend and beating Universal's troubled Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds action-comedy R.I.P.D., which cost $130 million to produce, and Summit's Red 2, which cost at least $84 million to make. The Conjuring and new animation entry Turbo, which opened Wednesday, could reach $25 million.

R.I.P.D. took in an anemic $773,000 in Thursday night grosses; numbers weren't immediately available for Red 2.
Universal can certainly withstand a box office disappointment, considering its otherwise outstanding summer. Fast & Furious 6 has earned $704.4 million worldwide, while Despicable Me 2 shows no signs of slowing down as it races past the $500 million mark worldwide.

On Thursday, Despicable 2 crossed the $250 million mark domestically as it grossed $5 million, enough to edge out Turbo, from DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox. Turbo, on track for one of DWA's lower openings as it battles an overcrowded marketplace for family fare, took in $4.3 million for a two-day cume of $9.9 million.
Fox is counting on Turbo to have strong legs, noting that it received a glowing A CinemaScore and an A+ from moviegoers under age 18.
Turbo, which cost $135 million to produce and was directed by David Soren, is about an ordinary garden snail whose dream of racing in the Indianapolis 500 comes true. Ryan Reynolds voices the title role; Paul Giamatti, Snoop Dogg, Michael Pena, Maya Rudolph, Michelle Rodriguez and Samuel L. Jackson also lend their voices. DWA is playing up the fact that Turbo is an original story.
Box-office observers believe Turbo could suffer from animation fatigue, considering it opens only two weeks after Despicable 2 and four weeks after Disney and Pixar's Monsters University, both of which have the advantage of being sequels.

Pre-release tracking has been notably soft for R.I.P.D., and it may have a tough time hitting $20 million in its debut. Red 2 should do slightly better.
R.I.P.D., directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the comic book Rest in Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov, stars Reynolds and Bridges as deceased police officers who must protect the living from evil spirits who refuse to move on. The movie, drawing comparisons to Men in Black, also stars Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker (who appears in Red 2 as well).

Red 2 opens three years after the original film became a box-office sensation among older adults, who were drawn to the A-list cast that includes Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich. They all return, while Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones join the crew of special operatives.
Schwentke directed the 2010 Red, which debuted to $21.8 million domestically on its way to grossing nearly $200 million worldwide; Dean Parisot is in the director's chair this time. Summit took a gamble in opening the sequel in the heart of summer, considering Red debuted in October.

Stand-out summer style! Emma Watson makes an impact in plunging floral tea dress as she heads out for coffee

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Flower power: Emma Watson wore a plunging vintage-style floral tea dress as she headed out for coffee in central London on Friday

She's always admitted that she prefers modest, low-key attire to anything too attention-grabbing.
But Emma Watson certainly made an impact as she headed out for coffee in London on Friday, wearing a floral retro-style tea dress with a plunging neckline.
The fashion-conscious actress, 23, looked perfect for the warm weather in her stand-out ensemble, looking happy and relaxed as she met up with a friend for a leisurely catch-up.

The star, who has been busy promoting her new film The Bling Ring, had clearly taken a break so that she could have some time to herself.
And she seemed in high spirits as she breezed through London before stopping off at a coffee shop and taking a seat outside, opposite her friend.
Emma looked like she was getting into the spirit of summer, making an effort for her day out in the eye-catching dress, which had a vintage feel.

Spirit of summer: The Bling Ring star looked perfect for the hot weather in the stand-out dress and modest black sandals

Down time: The actress seemed in high spirits as she smiled at her friend, sipping on an Orangina

If she was trying to go incognito, then the A-lister was going the wrong way about it, turning heads as she breezed along the street thanks to the chic dress.
But Emma kept the rest of her look simple, wearing minimal make-up as usual and leaving her dark brown hair loose and tousled.
She listened intently to her friend as they chatted, after ordering a bottle of Orangina and a small cup of coffee for herself.

Having a laugh: Emma seemed to find something amusing as she burst into laughter as her friend chatted away

Pared-back chic: The British actress stuck to her usual style, keeping her make-up minimal and wearing her hair straight and loose

After spending the afternoon with her friend, Emma headed off on her own, chatting away on her mobile as she headed down the road.
The British actress' style is a far cry from her character's in Sofia Coppola's latest film about a group of celebrity-obsessed youngsters who rob the homes of the A-list.
'All my usual fashion views went out the window,’ she said recently of the role. ‘[I had] visible cleavage and very short skirts.'

Catching up: Emma seemed happy to have a day to herself, unfazed by the attention she got as she wandered around central London

She told The Radio Times, that unlike some stars, she has a minimal wardrobe and isn't obsessed with buying shoes like some girls.
‘I’ve got about eight pairs of shoes and that’s it,' she said, while discussing what it was like to see inside Paris Hilton's dressing room while shooting the film.

As stylish as ever: Emma wore a chic red and white Carven dress as she attended Caroline Sieber's wedding in Vienna last week

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

A cultural outing: Johnny Depp took a break from his promotional duties in Berlin, Germany on Saturday to visit a museum with his children Jack and Lily-Rose and his girlfriend Amber Heard

He's keeping his loved ones by his side on his Lone Ranger promotional tour.
On Saturday, Johnny Depp made a visit to the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany, with his 27-year-old girlfriend Amber Heard clutching his hand and his children Lily-Rose and Jack by their side.
It looks as though Amber is becoming quite well acquainted with her 50-year-old actor boyfriend's family, as she has joined them for a large part of the European tour.

Lots to be happy about! The Lone Ranger actor looked rather relaxed and content in the company of his girlfriend and two children

Both Johnny and Amber were looking particularly stylish for the outing, although Amber was arguably one step ahead in the fashion stakes.
The stunning actress, who met Johnny on the set of The Rum Diary in 2010, wore a chic blue and white striped maxi skirt with buttons all the way down the front.
The Texan-born bombshell belted the skirt at the waist and teamed it with a basic white tank, accessorising with a long necklace and wrists full of bracelets.

Her nails were painted siren-red and her tresses fell stylishly around her face, framed with chic sunglasses.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor was his typically enigmatic self in a cool cowboy hat and dark shades.
He wore a blue button-down shirt over the top of a red and black striped sweater - something only Johnny Depp could pull off with any sort of success.

Could he possibly be any cooler? The Pirates Of The Caribbean star strolled along the streets before hitting up a local eatery with Amber and the children

As the foursome wandered around the German city, Johnny appeared particularly relaxed - surely happy to be in the company of his loved ones.
Though he and Amber met in 2010, they were only romantically linked last year in the wake of the actor's split from Vanessa Paradis.
They have been reluctant to talk about their relationship and in a recent interview with Bullet magazine Heard refused to answer questions about the private island Depp reportedly bought her, saying: 'The island ... is my private life.'

A woman died on the Texas Giant roller coaster at the Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas on Friday evening

The woman who fell to her death Friday while riding on a roller coaster at a Texas amusement park has now been identified as Rosy Espraza.
The accident happened on the ‘Texas Giant’ ride at the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park in Arlington at around 6.45pm Friday.
The Putman family, from Rockwell, stood in line for the ride behind Esparza and her children.
‘They were laughing and talking,’ John Esparza recalled, describing the victim as a woman in her 50s.
The Putmans did not see he accident, but Darlene Putman said the woman’s son, a man in his 20s, appeared distraught after the roller coaster returned to the loading platform.
‘He was saying, “She fell! she fell!”’ Mrs Putman recalled.

Deadly accident: Rosy Esparza has been identified as the woman who fell to her death from a Texas roller coaster

According to the witnesses, the frantic son attempted to race to the tracks, but was stopped and turned away by park employees.
One witness told The Dallas News that the woman had gotten on the ride with her son and that they believe she mustn’t have been strapped in correctly.
Witness Carmen Brown told reporters, 'they didn't secure her right. One of the employees from the park — one of the ladies — she asked her to click her more than once, and they were like, "As long you heard it click, you're OK."

Witnesses who saw the woman tumble from the ride directed paramedics to the victim's location

'Everybody else is like, "Click, click, click." Hers only clicked once. Hers was the only one that went down once, and she didn't feel safe, but they let her still get on the ride.'
Witnesses who saw Miss Esparaza tumble from the ride directed paramedics to the victim's location.
'She goes up like this. Then when it drops to come down, that's when it (the safety bar) released and she just tumbled,' said Brown, of Arlington. Brown said she was waiting in line to get on the ride when the accident happened.

One witness told The Dallas News that the woman had gotten on the ride with her son and that they believe she mustn't have been strapped in correctly

A witness told Fox DFW that she saw the safety bar secure normally before the ride began and that when it returned it was in the normal down position. Officials have not yet determined if the restraint came loose, causing the woman to fall.

Travel duds: Miranda Kerr was a knockout in tiny black shorts and black blazer just before boarding a helicopter in Japan, an experience she shared through pictures on Twitter

Miranda Kerr was model perfect even thousands of feet above ground.
The Victoria's Secret beauty was stylish even as she prepared to board a helicopter in Tokyo, Japan for what looked like a scenic flight over the city.
Miranda, 30, shared her breathy experience with her Twitter followers on Saturday in a series of photos that showed her radiant and altitude-ready in chic black shorts and black blazer.

Heights, no problem: The 30-year-old model was ready for takeoff in movie-star shades

A billowy black and white patterned scarf trailed to her bare knees while her metal-studded black ankle boots garnered a wave of praise from her social networking fans.
'Flying high,' Miranda captioned a photo of her view from several thousand feet in the air - helicopters can zoom up to 8,000 feet - while showing off her fancy footwear.
'Lucky girl,' Miranda wrote in the caption of another picture showing herself standing in front of the helicopter.

Enjoying the view: Miranda shared a picture of what she was seeing from the air, as well as her cute boots, tweeting: 'Flying high'

Needless to say, her followers couldn't get beyond the clothes or the gorgeous gams.
One pal replied, 'I love your boots,' while another tweeted, 'Nice legs.'
The stunner has been making the most of her visit since arriving at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday, wearing a low-cut, orange dress with Asian theme and pebble-print heels.

Was this what Mary Shelley had in mind? Aaron Eckhart transforms into Frankenstein's monster in official still from new movie

$

By CLIFF RENFREW

No monster: Aaron Eckhart looks like a male model in the official still from I, Frankenstein

Frankenstein has never looked so good.
With his chiseled face and washboard abs, Aaron Eckhart is one manly and handsome monster in the official still for I, Frankenstein.
Three new posters from the new movie were just released before Comic-Con and now we get a glimpse of the Erin Brokovoich star as Victor Frankenstein's 'grotesque' creation.

Mean: Aaron cuts a scary figure in the movie's official poster

But unlike Mary Shelley's hideous and horribly disfigured Frankenstein, Aaron is a site for sore eyes - but not because he has a bolt through his neck or green coloured skin.
Director Stuart Beattie's creation looks more like he skipped from the pages of GQ magazine - his facial features are sculpted and handsome while he has the kind of ripped body that most men can only dream about.

New vision: The official I, Frankenstein posters hint at a very different type of horror movie

'There's no neck bolts in this film, but we do get a sense that he's made up of about six corpses,' said Eckhart to Entertainment Weekly.
'Every day in makeup, we did a pretty extensive scarring session.'
The talented 45-year-old actor is of course no stranger to extensive makeup and scarring sessions as his good looks were hideously burned in his transformation from Gotham City's D.A. Harvey Dent into the villainous Two-Face in Batman movie The Dark Knight.
And despite the considerable physical differences, Eckhart says his character has a lot in common with Shelley's original creation at least in terms of personality.

Leading man: Aaron showed off his hunky body in Possession back in 2002

'Adam, as he's called in the film, is an intelligent, cunning being who knows how to speak just fine and has "serious daddy issues,"' he reveals
But like most screen adaptations of Shelley's novel, I, Frankenstein offers its own radical spin on the fabled horror story, first published in 1818.
'It's a contemporary story about the monster, the unwanted so-called abortion, the aberration, the unworthy son created and thrown out of the house,' Eckhart told Yahoo! Movies in a recent interview.
'And he has to go find his soul, find his purpose in life, and he does that in a fantastical world with gargoyles and demons. While these demons are against him and the gargoyles are sort of for him in a way.'
Rumors are flying that some clips from I, Frankenstein could be released at Comic-Con in the coming days.
The movie also co-stars Jai Courtney, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto.
I, Frankenstein will be released in January 2014.

Talent: Aaron recently promoted his work by appearing on Extra

'I am enormously happy': Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the proud parents of a 'beautiful' baby... to the delight of Prince Charles

By REBECCA ENGLISH, ROYAL CORRESPONDENT and MARTIN ROBINSON

An overjoyed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the proud parents of a ‘beautiful’ baby boy, as Britain celebrates the birth of a future king.
The couple’s son was delivered at 4.24pm yesterday in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington weighing a bouncing 8lbs 6oz and with his proud father looking on.
The as yet unnamed baby will be given the title His Royal Highness and be known as Prince (Name) of Cambridge, after a decree by the Queen earlier this year.

The big day has arrived: An easel stands in the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace in London to announce the birth of a baby boy, at 4.24pm to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at St Mary's Hospital

The new prince is third in the line of succession, displacing Prince Harry to fourth and the Duke of York to fifth, although he may not become sovereign for half a century or more.
Recent legislation allowing female heirs to automatically accede to the throne if they are first born will clearly not affect the Cambridge’s son, but will have a bearing on any of his children.

It's a boy: The message displayed outside the palace telling the world that there is a new prince in the British royal family

News of the royal birth - which came after an 11 hour labour - was not made public by Kensington Palace until 8.29pm last night, four hours after the baby was born.
Sources said the couple ‘just wanted to spend a little time together to bond as a family’ and inform members of both families privately before the news was disseminated to the world. William made those calls personally.

The waiting crowds cheer as the Queen's Press Secretary Ailsa Anderson with Badar Azim a footman place on an easel in the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace a notification, to announce the birth of a baby boy

The Queen, who arrived back at Buckingham Palace just after 3pm yesterday, declared herself ‘delighted’ - as did all.
Kate, 31, will remain in hospital overnight with her baby - her husband is also, unusually, expected to stay with her - but may be discharged as early as tomorrow after being assessed by doctors first thing.
Surprisingly, no family visitors were expected last night - not even the Middleton family - as the couple want to spend some time alone together, sources told the Mail.

Britain rejoices: Monarchists clamour for a better view as the news is revealed outside the Queen's home

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

The detective: Dennis Farina, shown as Detective Joe Fontana in 2004 on Law & Order, has died at age 69

Dennis Farina, a onetime Chicago policeman who went on to play a cop on Law & Order, has died at 69.
He passed away on Monday morning in a Scottsdale, Arizona hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung, according to his publicist.
Farina for three decades was a character actor who combined remarkable dexterity and charm with toughness.

The actor put his craggy face, steel-gray hair, ivory smile and ample mustache to good use in many popular films, including: Snatch, Saving Private Ryan, Midnight Run and Out Of Sight.
He also had memorable roles in Get Shorty and the Cameron Diaz film What Happens In Vegas, showing his flair for comedy.

Farina was perhaps best known for playing Detective Joe Fontana on Law & Order during the 2004-06 seasons, one of many roles in his lengthy television career.
'I was stunned and saddened to hear about Dennis’ unexpected passing this morning,' said Law & Order creator Dick Wolf in a statement on Monday. 'The Law & Order family extends sympathy and condolences to his family. He was a great guy.'

Chicago cop: Dennis was a police officer in Chicago before going on to portray a detective on Law & Order

Farina also starred in the 1980s cult favorite Crime Story and was a regular in the 2011-12 HBO drama Luck.
He recently completed shooting a comedy, Lucky Stiff.
Farina was a veteran of the Chicago theater and appeared in Joseph Mantegna's Bleacher Bums and Streamers, directed by Terry Kinney, among other productions.
He was born on Feb. 29, 1944, in Chicago and was a city detective before he found his way into the acting profession as he neared his forties.

Sudden death: Farina, shown with actor Michael Imperioli as Detective Nick Falco on Law & Order in 2005, suffered a blood clot in his lung

His first film was the 1981 action drama Thief, directed by Michael Mann, whom he had met through a mutual friend while still working for the Chicago Police Department.
'I remember going to the set that day and being intrigued by the whole thing,' Farina recalled in a 2004 interview. 'I liked it. And everybody was extremely nice to me. If the people were rude and didn't treat me right, things could have gone the other way.'
Farina is survived by three sons, six grandchildren and his longtime partner, Marianne Cahill.
